That is why we have worked with them to ensure that as much of their donations are reaching those charities as possible and in the most tax-efficient manner. One of the ways that we do that is through qualified charitable distributions (QCDs).
QCDs are a direct transfer from your IRA, payable to a qualified charity of your choice. QCDs can help satisfy your required minimum distributions for the year, and are excluded from your taxable income, (unlike regular withdrawals from your IRA). If you are donating to charities anyway, QCDs allow you to do it with pre-tax dollars. You do not pay the taxes on the funds and neither does the charity – it’s a WIN-WIN situation!!!

Give Hope Africa is a charity organization registered in the U.S. and the U.K. (as Give Hope Trust) with a vision of seeing all children grow and live up to their full potential. They facilitate child sponsorship programs and mobilize resources through donations towards supporting projects that benefit children, youth and women. They currently support projects in Zambia and Ethiopia. A Better Way Financial has an added interest in this charity since Nick’s wife, Melat, is Ethiopian.
Allentown Rescue Mission is a non-denominational, Christian, social services organization, which provides critically needed goods and services to homeless and impoverished men, without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, or religion. Their mission statement is to rescue, rehabilitate, and restore homeless men through faith-centered programs based on accountability and compassion. A Better Way Financial believes in supporting our local charities as well as far-reaching, global initiatives that will help save and improve lives.
The Wounded Warrior Project has been helping veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001, transition to civilian life. They provide these people with mental and physical health services, financial wellness services, and peer and community connection at no cost to them. A Better Way Financial holds those who serve this country to a high regard and is proud to support a foundation that helps our service members who need it most.
